Key : Low Energy Building, Historical Building Conservation

The old church, a heritage site in Blok Q, Kebayoran Baru, Jakarta, gave its name to the surrounding area, known as Santa. When the congregation outgrew the existing space, an expansion was necessary. Instead of enlarging the existing structure, the design proposal involved constructing a new building on an adjacent plot, reorienting the entrance away from the street to reduce noise intrusion during services. The original building would serve as a multipurpose hall and chapel for special occasions, preserving its historical significance. The new building features a sawtooth roof design for optimal lighting and acoustics, initially planned to be openable for heat dissipation. This approach showcases the site’s history through its evolving architecture.
