Key : Green Urban Space, Low Energy Building
The green roof typology is a proposed strategy for houses built in Jakarta. Since the initial experiment at Rumah Ciganjur, the use of green roofs has grown increasingly widespread. This house is divided into two vertical zones. The upper zone contains the bedrooms, which can also be accessed via a landscaped staircase leading to the rooftop garden. This design is essential due to the homeowner’s irregular working hours, allowing late-night access without disturbing those on the lower floor. The lower zone is designed to be dimmer, accommodating the elderly residents. Water features are strategically placed both above and below for cooling purposes.
